Default Brakes going bad!!!

i hear like the front brakes are kinda crunching when i come to stop . and now when i stop sometimes to a deadstop i hear a squeak, its a 95 gsr 80000 miles. do i just need new pads? is this the start to huge problem?

well it all depends have you ever changed the pads, have the rotors ever been resurfaced??? if you catch it early enough you can get away diy for like 60$$$ or less depending on what brake pads you buy. and napa or kragen can resurface your rotors for like 12$ a piece if they are within resurfacing specs. otherwise you will have to buy new ones. or you could just take it to a shop and get it done.

i dont think they have ever been changed , how do i see if the pads are still good? is it visible or do i have to remove parts to see it?

take the wheel off the hub and look thru the caliper you should be able to see both brake pads resting against the rotor. usually the inne pads will wear first then the second.
