Evolution Auto X School @ Beaver Run
For those not doing the track day and coming to the Expo, there are a few spots open for our Phase I Evo school.
They are excellent schools and most people swear by them. Cost is $200.
There is also the possibility of doing a Challenge school on Sunday if people are interested. We would probably need 2 or 3 people to have the Challenge school take off. You must have taken Phase I and II to participate.
Details can be found here:

Shawn - the only Type R at BeaveRun on the 12th that won't be at the Expo

There was a Pro Racing event scheduled for that weekend, which was cancelled.
We were originally scheduled for Fri, but moved to Sat when Pro cancelled.

Cool, hopefully 'me old autoX chums will be around, be great to see you guys!
I'd love to go to the Evo school, but I simply can't afford it.
I didn't realize there would even be any spots left by now, otherwise I would have saved up for it.

wow.. only 24 cars?
I am interested for the 2nd Phase I..
(still in June though)..
to be able to run 30-40 runs alone worth $200 IMHO..
but then I might need tires.. hmm...

Shawn - the only person on the planet who's Evo instructors made him go slower
Can you explain more about this EVO school?
only 24 cars running? do we have to work on the course?
I don't care about winning nationals.. I just want to run....
I am tired of running 5 runs MAX on a $20 autocross day..
30-40 runs really sounds good.
oh about tires.. you have tons, right?
I think I'll sign up for the one in June.
but for Expo, I will need to defend our turf in the 'Novice' Class. LoL

You do have to work the course a bit. Not a big deal though. There are very few cones on an Evo School course.
Basically you do a bunch of runs with an instructor. They also drive your car with you in it. They are all National Champions or close to it.
The major focus of the school is getting you to pay attention to looking ahead. Most people (even me) tend to focus on what is right in front of them. This gets you into big trouble when setting up for later corners. They will also discuss proper lines, but not in depth. The theory is, if you know what is coming up (looking ahead) you will automatically set the car up with a suitable line.
Most people went a lot faster throughout the day. I on the other hand went slower, up until the last runs of the day. That said on larger courses (Evo course is small) like the Ft. Myers National Tour and even our normal Beave courses it helped me out a good bit. I feel much more in control and smoother than I used to be.
Also if you get friendly with the guys you can probably hang out and do even more runs on a bigger course at the end of the day.
Stop by the school at the Expo if you get a chance.
Watch it buster. We don't take kindly to southerners around these parts.
when i was down at William & Mary, we went to the VA state fair near richmond...and it was all farm animals and chewing tobacco. I was expecting technology and stuff....i don't think i'd ever been that close to a hog before. "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!??!"
what if I dont have a car to bring, are there some instructor cars or anything to use for the school
I would be very interested in doing this

haha, hey man, i'm from NORTHERN VA, one of the few places you can head north from and go further south (maryland has cows and stuff, it seems.)

I have never seen so much fried food in my life though than at the state fair.
They had fried oreos.
No, i'm not kidding.

Hmmm. Let me check into this. I'll get back to you by the end of the night.
