for those with 17 inches rim, what tire are you using?
I like those new Yokahoma Paradas....their overall diameter is 23.5 inches which = the stock RE10 overall diameter so u wont have speedo or odo problems...plus their wear a lot slower (UTQG of 300 as opposed to the RE10s which are 110 or 120 i believe)...and the tread looks phat, and it got good reviews. just my opinion...they're a Tirerack.com...205/40ZR-17s
NBP ITR 01-622......I have the paradas on my 16" spoon wheels. so far they are pretty good, it's not what I wanted, but I was eager to get my spoon wheels! Pretty cheap tire though, they were less than $100/tire for 205-45-16

i wasn;t really impressed with the paradas. i can;t really complain since i got them for 320 for a set of 205/40/17, but dry and wet are just aveage imo. the 450s imo aren;t that great either, but if you need something that will last, that is the tire. yoko a520s are an ok choice but you sacrifice tire wear and i heard that the re730s came in a 205/40/17 size. if that is true, then that is the next set of tires i will mount when i get new rims. and of course the so3 are really nice in the dry but i think they go for 200something per tire
Unfortunately, fortunately for Kou, he got the last set that Mackin had available. There will be no more. You may find some at other Volk dealers and I am sure that supply vs demand will affect pricing. Never fear, though, the LE37k and LE37T will be out early July. Only offered in a 17 and 18 5-114, they are essentially a TE37 and SE37K with GM center and polished lip. Shoot me an email if you want a peek. Thanks again Kou!
looks like most of you here are using 205-40-17, I was planning on using 215-40-17. Is there a reason why? Too wide for this rim size? I am looking at getting the Dunlop sp sport9000. What do you guys think? Or should i just go with the Yoko Parada?

Get the Sumitomo HTRZ II's. They are only like $100 a pop at tirerack for 205/40/17 or 215/40/70. Excellent tires at any price. Just check the survey result on it if you don't believe. Had a set on my brother's G20 before... I was impressed. Good tread lift too, got atleast 25k and only like half worn.
If I was going 17's this would be the tire I'd get.

yokohama A520 gets my vote! any size, they grip like crazy. sure you sacrifice quietness and treadwear, but you get confidence in return. a very worthy trade-off, IMO.
