Default need help guys...fpr related

Well, I just installed the B&M fpr and gauge last night. I measured the stock fuel pressure at ~34-35 psi. I bumped up the pressure to ~36-37. The car feels like it runs much smoother but it seems like it's burning gas a lot faster, which really surprises me. I forgot to remove the vacuum hose when I measured the stock setting, so I set the new pressure with the vacuum hose on also. I was just wondering if any of you know the stock fuel pressure with the vacuum hose on. thanks a bunch.

Also, I was wondering about my B&M gauge. Is it normal for the needle to "twitch" just a bit. It's at 36 psi and stay there consistently but it twitches. Is this normal or should it not move at all. Thanks.

The difference is however much vacuum was in your manifold at the time. The FPR really just tries to control a constant difference between fuel line vs. vacuum hose.

First set your FPR to match stock which you say was 34-45 with the hose connected. Then you can tell if your higher fuel use is from the higher SETTING or if something else is going on. Personally, if you set your fuel pressure higher than stock, I don't know why you're surprised that it uses more fuel than stock... that's kind of how it works.

I don't know about the fluctuation; if its small it might just be the gauge rattling a bit. First find out if your manifold vacuum is fluctuating. If it is, then the FPR is just doing its job & following the fluctuations.
