just got my b18c into my crx si, need some wireing help...
I am going to use my crx harness and modify some of the clips.
the engine is a 97 obd2 b18c1. I am converting to obd1 and running a p28 ecu
I know I need to
1.rewire the dizzy, I think I know how to do that
2. can I use the gsr alternator? can I just re-wire the harness to the OBD2 plug
3. do I need to use the evap purge valve? I have a skunk 2 IM
4. re-wire map and tps plugs from obd0 to obd2
5. wire up v-tec
6. wire 4 wire O2 sensor.
7. remove resistor box and wire up new injector clips for OBD2 injectors.
Am I missing anything some of the wireing is confusing me if anyone has done this before and knows exactly what to do please let me know if I am missing anything. I am trying to get this ready to race at e-town on sunday.
thanks for any help youcan give me.

I've only done 1 swap (LS/Vtec) into my 89, but I'll try to answer your questions. I went OBDI with a P72 ECU.
I hope you've purchased a wiring harness 'converter'. That will make things a bunch easier. That's what I did.
>1. rewire the dizzy, I think I know how to do that - That was a big problem from me as I had erroneously purchased an OBDII head with dizzy, instead of OBDI. The OBDII dizzy is the same as an OBDI dizzy (same sensors and wire colors) except for the PLUGS. OBDII has 1 nine wire plug. If you can source a donor (engine harness side plug), then unpin your old distributor wires to the donor plug. Otherwise you'll have to do a direct connect. The way my wiring harness was done I had to color match the wires, except for one. The slight BIGGER white wire in the engine harness was tied to the Yellow/Green wire of the distributor. (watch out there are TWO white wires in the engine harness, well for my DX there were). If you don't get a wiring harness converter then you'll have to match sensor signals (TDC, CYL, and CNK).
2. can I use the gsr alternator? can I just re-wire the harness to the OBD2 plug. Sorry I can't help there. I bought a salvage yard alternator. I'd say, see if it will plug in.
3. do I need to use the evap purge valve? I have a skunk 2 IM I didn't use the purge but keep the plumbing in place. I just blocked off the canister outlet (for now) but hooked the inputs to the IM.
4. re-wire map and tps plugs from obd0 to obd2. You can leave the MAP sensor on the firewall. Apparently the ECU doesn't care where its at. The TPS plug should plug right in (mine did, but I have a DX).
5. wire up v-tec - Here's where having an adapter harness will help. Mine came with instructions and extra wires for wiring up Vtec. There's one wire for the soleniod and two for the oil pressure switch. My instructions were very straight forward I just hooked up three wires from my conversion harness to the Vtec gear.
6. wire 4 wire O2 sensor. Same thing as #5, my wiring harness came with additional wires for wiring up the O2 sensor. O2 sensors are EXPENSIVE, like $400. See if you can get one from a salvage yard.
7. remove resistor box and wire up new injector clips for OBD2 injectors. Well, if can get a set of OBDI injectors you don't need to wire up for OBDII injectors. If not you'll have to get the donor clips and lots of salvage yards don't want you hacking on harnesses. As I recall, all I did was cut the red wires at the resistor box and simply solder them together to the one red wiring coming into the resistor box. If you refer to the shop manual, you'll see what needs to be done.

the map on the B18C is on the TB, so I would think I need to wire it directly up to that MAp sensor? insted of useing the map on the firewall.
one more thing the selinoids by the map sensore, do I need them with the OBD1 ECU, can I just toss them or do I need to re-connect them ? thanks

I did also get a conv harness for OBD0 TO OBD1 and yes everything is explained.
thanks for the help.
ok I decided to use my stock crx injectors, and keep the reistor box to save some wireing time. will I have any problems with crx injectors with a p28 ECU?
another thing i noticed is there is a 2 wire sensor on the back of my stock crx block near the oil filter, on the B18C block I dont see one there, is this a OBD0 sensore, will I not use it with the P28

possibly talking about the thermo switch. The thermo switch on your new motor is located on you thermostat housing. Just run those two wires to the thermo switch on the T stat housing.
