how do you get the speedo cable assembly out
Im trying to get the speedo cable assembly off of my tranny in an 88 crx si. I need to get it off to put on my ls tranny for my b18c. it doesnt seem to want to come out. anyone know a trick to getting it out?

Lift up that rubber boot, you'll see a metal horse-shoe shaped pin. Remove that and pull the cable right out.
that piece its press inside the tranny.. basically not really pressed but it has an o-ring that has it very tight in there... it just need to come straight out by pullint action.... i tried takind the one off my DX tranny... but no luck.... Si tranny one came easy tho... use a screwdriver and pry out a lil tru the lil lip it has once u take the bolt and notch off....
thats what I was doing, cracked the lip. but now I knwo it does come streight out. I will give it another try.

Hey DOHCarp,
When I removed mine I used a pair of vise-grips on the speed-o assembly , after clamping it on there (but not too tight) just take a hammer and tap the vise-grips in the direction that it will come out. It toke some time so as not too damage the speed-o assembly ,,,But thats how I got mine out.
