Side Sticker- On or Off?
I'm going to get my ITR tomorrow (finally) and I actually wanted to remove the two side stickers. Three questions:
1) Anyone think that it's a bad idea/good idea?
2) How- without damaging the car?
3) Totally unrelated- how much usually do the clear front bumper lens go for?
Oh yeah- I got my pictures back too from when I was at the dealership- can't wait...only a few more hours
Thanks everyone.

Please don't deface your R right after you pick it up from the dealership...wait a while and see how you feel about the stickers. They are part of the cars personality, and I wouldn't remove them unless you have a good reason. If you aren't sure about why you want to do it, don't! Clear corner lenses should go for about $30 a pair, plus or minus $5 depending on where you get them.
i took mines off about 4 months after i got the car. I didnt like it. i felt like a rolling advertisment.
just use a blow dryer and heat it up before you peel and the rest of the residue just wash if of if you want to remove it.

I've been contemplating taking my stickers off also.
Some ******** busted out my drivers side window and my hatch window both within a month a of each other. Thank god for insurance and a low deductible. That rear window went for like $1600.00 the guy told me.
Who knows I may even take off my wing.

You know, it's sad that people today who have a nice car that others don't "approve" of have to fear that their property will be damaged because of it. I personally try to just have the attitude of not caring. I live in a fairly nice area so maybe I am somewhat naive (sp?). I figure if someone is going to break in to or vandalize my car it is going to happen and there isn't much I can do about it.
I think defacing your car out of fear is somewhat pitiful. But on the other hand I cannot understand where some of you are comming from because as I said I have always lived in good neighborhoods where vandalism and theft was not a problem at all.

Well I guess you're lucky to live in such a wonderful neighborhood.
That's a great attitude to have........ especially where I live. You leave your car parked on the street a few times around here and you would be hating life. But hey........ like you said don't worry about it. It's only money right?

I'm not really "afraid" of anything at all. That was the one thing that I didn't like about it when i first saw the car. It's a bit tacky b/c it makes my car look like a walking billboard. i know people who have like 1000 stickers on the car- it just makes me feel that if you really have that much performance- advertising about it won't make it go any faster. i dunno. I love the car a lot- but I just didn't think I needed to advertise it everywhere I go. Thanks for the tip Fly!

hey does anybody know if you can buy the Type-R decals from the dealership...... if so how much??
Its a matter of personal preference.. I liked the sides stickers at first. But after a 1+ years I got tired of them. They were kind of big, and the wax would just leave a white outline around them. The rear sticker is good enough for me.
My thing has always been that I won't buy a car if I don't liek the way it looks. So when I bought the R I liked the way it was stock, stickers and all. I think the whole idea of stickers has been beaten to death because so many people just put them on to get that "racer" look. However, the stock stickers on the Type-R are well positioned and moderated, which is what makes it look good. The same can be said for the amount of red on the R. Just enough to look good, but not so much as to make it look gawdy (sp?).
i agree with big phat R, after a while you just don't notice them anymore. i washed + waxed my car last weekend for the first time in months, and when i was applying wax around the stickers i was like, "oh yeah, there's type R stickers there..."
Leave em on...you bought the car for what it is....if you take the stickers off...anyone with half a brain will still know its an ITR.

I disagree. I have had between 10-15 people in just a week say...
"Man, that's one of the nicest looking GSRs I've ever seen!" I just smile and say, "thanks, I try".
I removed the R decals and applied an OEM GSR badge to the rear. (The grey DOHC VTEC badge.) I'm into the steath look, and it should also help with the thieves/vandals too

You know good and well that your car really is a LS w/a Special Edition tag on it.
Boba- whos contemplating taking his ITR stickers off and applying a SE sticker. Because we all know how our ITR's are SE's

i'd seen a FBP ITR with no side stickers....it looked alright...would i do it? NO
it just seems like it's missing something if you take the side stickers out...my opinion

McGuiar's Hi-tech yellow does not leave any white residue!! And looks great to boot!
I removed my side stickers within hours of getting my car home. I don't like them, personally.

I had mine on for a year and half...took them off for a clean look...kept the rear one. It looks really good with my UKDM wheels. I'll have to post pics of my car when 1. i take some pics and 2. find a place to host them.
A guy said to me one time...'you know what your car is, why do you have to advertise to everyone else?'
I honestly like it better without them, but before I took them off, I didn't even notice them...just like the others have said.

I am guilty as charged...
No stickers, no wing. Well, you'd do it to if you lived in ATL. This place is not safe at all. (I do live in a nice neighborhood, but my work place is not.)
The funniest thing is it's damn hard for me to take the red "H" emblems off my car. I haven't had the courage to do it yet... I must be strong!
