What is this stuff on my spark plugs!?
I thought brown stuff was bad. When I replaced my plus, only one of my plus where brown like that.
I was told my plug wasn't screwed all the way in there was a leak which caused the somewhat oxidation? I could be wrong.

http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinf...q/faqread2.asp This site tells you how to read the spark plug. From what is says on the site your plugs look normal except for that second from the left spark plug needs to gaped becuase it looks like it Electrode is touching the tip of the spark plug.

brown means u have a good a/f ratio
I think that's pretty normal, looks like a little oil got cooked on. But HOLY GOD, please tell us the gap on the first two plugs is from dropping the plugs on the ground.

a mechanic told me the brown rings indicate that the plugs have been running hot, at least thats what I was told, but I had the same looking plugs and switched to a 7 series instead of the stock 6 i didnt happen again

Ok ok, the plugs were flattened.
Ladies... Google is your friends... Seached: brown ring around spark plugs
First Return:
A brown stain - often mistaken for gas leakage - is sometimes observed in a ring around where the insulator joins the metal shell of the spark plug. This discolouration is generally called Corona Stain and is the result of oil particles present in the air around the engine adhering to the insulator surface.
The Corona Stain is often seen on spark plugs that are installed deep into the engine such as on many four valves per cyclinder engine applications. This is because oil particles are not blown away by air circulating around the engine compartment and thus adhere to the insulator surface. It is imporant to understand that Corona Stain causes no deterioration to the function of the spark plug.
