Just installed my Toda B's into type R with toda cam gears and new valve springs and retainers..What a beast she is..My mugen exhaust takes on a entirely different tone(throaty and deep to say the least) low to midrange is worlds apart from my former setup..Hopefully in the next day or two I will be dynoing with vafc and new ecu...stay tuned..Thanx to Jeff(lip) and drt...

Hey I have almost the same setup as you. It's amazing how loud the Mugen exhaust is now (imagine how loud it would be with an N1 type exhaust!!).

My idle is lopey - it hunts around between 800 and 1000 rpm - but its quiet and doesn't stall. Sounds like a racecar!

Idling is good as it stands still but kinks need to be worked out idles between 1k and 1500..Sounds definitely like a racecar. drove my boys s2000 pulled similar but my car pulled harder and longer..Cant wait to dyno and get rid of the factory rev limit and vtec switch over. Thats my basic hindering point as it stands...lots of power to be made. But it feels wicked to say the least..Raced a prelude initially off the line in first and all most hit him didnt realize the potential..but Imhappy

This is my 92 Intgera ITR hybrid. I ran a 14.22 with a passenger and full interior on slicks. Without the passenger, I ran a 13.834 @99.74mph. My best trap speed of the day was 101.04mph. I LOVE MY TODAS!!!!!

Sigh Someday I'll join the family. And I have a N1 muffler on custom piping with no resonator Imagine how loud that's going to be.

I HAD the same setup in the car. I would suggest go to the dyno with just the VAFC,and get some type of fuel pressure regulator, ( B&M ) See what kind of numbers you can get with eh stock ECU, just get the VAFC to change X-over point to about 6800 and bump up the fuel a little, then play with the cam gears. Idle will get worse as you advance the intake cam, but that is where the power is. Also try to get a Fuel pressure gauge... Good Luck ..... sounds good.....

I should be recieving my Toda **** tomorrow.

I said f**k it and went for the whole ball of wax.

I'm gonna have Spec C's, the whole valve train upgrade, CTR pistons,
J&S Safeguard, Ferrea retainers, ECU is going to get reprogrammed and some big fat *** 440cc injectors.

This will go along with my current setup........ AEM CAI, Spoon header,
test pipe and a Tanabe Racing Medallion.

Going to be redlining at close to 10K.

I'm hoping to catch a few races down at Pigeon Forge this year. Anyone else from the board going? It's going to be huge!!!

Everyone lines the streets and nags all the lowered duelies to do burnouts. It's a riot.

Is your mugen exhaust much louder after installing the cam?

Yeah what Initial E said, I may do the Mugen setup just for its quietness, so as not to attract too much attention.

BTW welcome to the Family

Use the 310s, foo'. You're not running a 2.0 or 2.2 liter engine.

<<Going to be redlining at close to 10K.>>

LoL. That's great.

Well when I first got my R I got a mugen exhaust for being quiet...I guess having a test pipe with the current setup just contributes to how loud it is.
My setup as it stands is jdm header, test pipe, stillen fpr, mugen exhaust ..toda b's and cam gears and new valve train...Just waiting to go to the dyno now...to fine tune it...These cams are long overdue...THanx to lip for all the help...
