Default Slightly OT: Good Stainless Steel Polish/Cleaner?

I've got a nasty looking brownish-purple header that I'm getting ready to sell. I haven't had much luck finding a Stainless Steel Cleaner/Polish, mostly because I haven't ever had to worry about it!

I know itr1244 recommended Autosol, but so far I have not found anyone that sells this product. That is, besides their website which takes you automatically to a paypal page to buy their products, which isn't my cup of tea.

I'm hoping I can pick something up locally (new header will be on for the expo, so this header HAS to be clean and sent in a week!!), so any good products you have used.... let me know. Thanks in advance.

Any idea where these might be sold locally?
I'm tired, annoyed with searching online, and you guys might already know.

i get the Brasso cleaner at any mom & pop hardware store here in NYC...

its $4 a small can about the size of a whiskey flask...
thats enough to polish out the entire exhaust system from header to catback about 3 times...

Brasso did not get the blue off the header. It sure works well with faucets though

I just got a header and immediately started looking for a way to make it look new again. I went out and bought 3 different metal polishes, none of them giving me the result. they helped a bit though. I tried Mother's Mag Wheel Polish, Bluemagic Metal Polish, and Eagle One Wadding cloth, which actually did the most good.

Thanks everyone.
I'm heading over to the Golfsmith down the street (that I didn't even know was there!!) for some blue away today, and hopefully I can find some Autosol while I'm out. We'll see what happens. I'll take some before/after pics of the two headers while I'm at it.

Chris, I like the Zep Stainless Steel Cleaner; non-abrasive, works equally well on aluminum (handy when you have an ARC box)

You can find it at Home Depot.

I used a polish called Flitz on my header...you can get it at any marine store, it's sold for polishing chrome that is weathered by the salt water and worked great

Tube is like 12 bucks and is small, but you don't need much to do a header....I thini it was a 10 oz package, and is probably enough to do 12 headers.

You could also try Ouator Metal Polish, which you can pick up at Emmons Coachworks in Villa Park.
