I was driving down the street when I saw my favorite car, a Ferrari Testarossa, parked on the side...I worked ABS to its fullest, and parked right in front of it. I sat on the side of the street for about 15 minutes looking at the two cars nose-to-tail. The Ferrari was also yellow so it perfectly matched my PY...the owner came out and we came to the conclusion that yellow is the only color to be had on a true sports car. He went inside to go back to work but he told me to sit in the car for as long as I wanted, of course he leaves it unlocked in the middle of the city...I was scared to break **** at first but then I started pushing the clutch (heavy as hell) and working the shifter (longer throws than the Mustang) and then beeped the horn (beautiful music). The guy was the coolest Ferrari owner I've met yet, it really brightened up my day.

It was weird, we didn't even exchange names or anything, he just left me alone with his car. I asked him if he ever took it to the track, he shook his head, and then mentioned casually that he also has a 512 B.B.i....lucky bastard. I still have never driven a Ferrari although I'm coming ever closer. If you think about it, the R is the closest thing you can get to a Ferrari on a budget...shrieking engine with high redline (the 360 Modena also redlines at 8500 or thereabouts), impeccable handling, even a red engine cover like the Testarossa, basically a track car in street clothing. Which is precisely why I bought the R.

Kengs - good call on the engine. Those Boxers do sound better, although now that you mention it Im not exactly sure which one the Testy has. I know its 5.0L though...

I've sat in an F40 and now the Testy...youve sat with Jenna and Kobe...tough choice in terms of the frustration each one brings. Last time I saw Kobe she was a brunette and a lot smaller. This is going way OT but would you ever date one of those chicks? Regardless of what those girls do, I'm not sure if I would be able to say no.

The other tech sites I saw said that it was a 180 degree V, i.e it's a boxer. The original 1956? Testarossa was a 4 cylinder though!!!!!.

No. The 512BB is a different model, and is sometimes called simply a "Boxer" (even though that term normally only connotes a horizontally-opposed engine).

 

I got to sit in a toyota Avalon today; while it isn't as fast it's towing capacity...er, aw, who am i kidding....

I am dirt, not that fancy store bought dirt though, I can't compete with that stuff.
