Need your help, can't get this shit out?
Ok how in the world do you take off the 14mm bolt on the rear strut. I soaked it in WD-40 and used a 1/2in Impact but still couldn't get it off. Tried a breaker bar but wouldn't work either felt like the bolts head was gonna break right off. I'm stumped and I don't feel like a paying a shop to install springs when I can do it my self. Just don't want to break the bolt. HELP
Well, it may snap. BUT, try liquid wrench instead of WD-40; then, leave it on for about 5-10mins. In my personal experience, BEFORE the liquid wrench dries, whack the bolt with a hammer. Don't be shy, just do it. Now, get with the breaker bar. Sometimes, putting the box end of a wrench on the bolt & the hitting the other end of the wrench with a hammer gives enough "shock" to loosen the bolt from the rust.

yes i will second the hammer vs wrench theory...at the hubcap store we have rubber mallet/crowbar combos that are GREAT for this, its like a rubber sledgehammer. i worry that a metal hammer might have greater risk of breaking the bolt without providing much more force.

its probally stripped both bolt and nut...this happened to me on my maxima...the rear strut was stuck on cause my friend cross threaded it and used a impact gun on it. i suggest that u dont use any impact guns on bolts. unless they are made to handle the tension. but yah if it is that then its stuck there man unless u saw it off and then buy a new one. but good luck man. peace,B

remove the whole rear lower control arm. ist just another `14mm bolt.... then use a hacksaw to break the rest of bolt.... then with vise grips remove last parts of bolt.. we did it that way tho
