How I love my ITR spec brakes...
I finally got the Stoptech AeroRotors on the Teg this weekend along with the 11.4" rear kit and man it is nice to be able to stop on a dime again. I really missed that feeling of being able to slow down at the last second before hitting the apex and powering thru the corner. Now all I need is about 50 more HP and I'll be all set.
I think the biggest thing is knowing that I have more brake than I need under any situation. Now I just need to go out and test the brakes with the ABS to see how they do.

The Stoptech rotors run $500 a pair. The rear upgrade for the Teg(ITR upgrade still under development) is $160 for Board members. I hope to test fit the ITR upgrade within the next couple of weeks.
I am partial to the EBC greens for street, just because they have that great initial bite that slows the car the instant the brakes are touched. For the track I'm going to try the Reds plus some other pads until I find one I like.
Can you remind me of the varous ITR brake projects that you are working on? (Rotor size, vented or not, one piece or two piece, price, when available, etc.)
I did a search but could not find what I was looking for.

Maybe it is just me, or maybe it has just been a long day - but does it bother anybody else that somebody with the alias "fastbrakes" posts an advertisement, masked as a post, about some great brake parts to stir up some business here from board members.
I'm assuming you do sell the brake parts you mentioned?
If I'm way off here, forgive me.

It seems to be that way...

Remember that the brake upgrade is in response to our request for a less expensive option...the only things that I see out there are the Spoon, Mugen, Comptech and there are a few others with parts under development.
Brian,
Thanks for the update.

I am about to release my 11" 2 piece ITR rotors. These rotors are 1" thick so will be able to withstand more abuse before heat related problems affect brake performance. They are directional vane rotors and will pump more air than the stockers.
I can also supply the StopTech AeroRotors for the ITR, they are the same price as the Teg, $500/pair.
The ITR rear upgrade will use an 11.4" rotor and the stock caliper.

I only post on here to let this board know that the parts are being developed. I also asked several months ago for the Board admin to tell me when I have gone beyond what they consider appropriate. I give a discount to all members who are interested in the parts I develop. I await the verdict of the court...
I personally see no problem with these type of posts. Sure, they are somewhat "marketing" oriented, but I dont think they are any different than if someone from Comptech came on here and announced they had a new product available. As long as its good info about a quality product, all the better for us
It could be taken to the extreme, but so far, I think fastbrakes hasnt crossed that line, and is doing a good job of keeping us abreast of what they are working on, the same cannot be said by other BIG manfacturers who probably never even visit this place.

Ignore the detractors fastbrakes. I appreciate posts like this way more than all the GAY *** OT stuff thats is cluttering this Type R BOARD!!! Enough with all the corny off topic stuff and more Tech posts like this one. Do I really give a flying F*ck about movies, video games, and/or somebodys sig pic? NO! And thats what the majority of the OT stuff on here is about!!! Keep up the good work fastbrakes!
TYPE R TECH/TYPE R TECH/ TYPE R TECH!!!

When I first read this post, I also got a queezy feeling.
Is this another one of those annoying commercial post? But quickly felt much more at ease knowing that companies like FastBrakes, SMSP and Hitech etc are actually here doing R&D for our benifit. We should only hope that larger companies like Mugen, Toda, Spoon, Tein, Crower, etc would also join our happy little family. But until then we can only dream. I would love to see engineers from Toda, Jun and Mugen on the board battling out who makes the best VTECI cam gears for the 2003 ITR.
If they start posting things like "Altezza lights and Tenzo Rims at wholesale prices" or "Buy Brand X from me (because I get a huge kick back)" then I will become upset.
But judging from the outstanding quality of products and information these guys have been willing to share with us, I think we should be gratefull to have them. They leave themselves very open for critisism by being so public
Just my two cents.

I stand corrected and I apologize to fastbrakes.
I did not understand the history of this particular project and I simply posted based on my initial "gut" reaction; misinformed as that usually is.

Do you have any applications for CRX's that will still allow use of the stock 14x5 wheels? I know that's not alot of room...
I noticed most of the stuff on your website required at least 15's which is ok since I'm on 96 GS-R's, but I'd like to be able to throw some Kumhos on the stockers for the track.
I recently replaced my stock pads and rotors and it looks like something is still causing my rotors to wear unevenly...so instead of replacing with stock, I may as well upgrade.
thanks!

Take a look at the carbotech panther+ pads Brian. I've used them on 2 events are I'm thoroughly impressed. Over 4 hours of HARD track time thus far, they are holding up. Still over 50% left. Easy on the rotors, low dust. Bites hard (no problem causing ABS to lock). Fade resistant. Last Sat @ BW it was quite hot. And BW is fairly demanding on the brakes. We ran #1 CW. In about 2:15 a lap you brake from hard often lets see front straight about 120 down to 70. Then off ramp 90 down to 55, then 95 down to 65, then 100 down to 65 by the bus stop, then 110 down to 70 just before magic mountain, then 115 down to 60 at star mazda turn, and finally 115 down to 65 to the front straight. 7 hard brakes per lap. I don't have brake ducting neither.
Why would you put a larger set of brakes on the rear? There's almost no weight back therem, especially when you are braking. The fronts do most of the work, right?

Give us all a brake down of what you have going again... all the way down to the A B C's of it.
I remember asking you about a Wilwood 4 pot caliper/1" thick rotor idea that I had for the ITR's(but never had the time to measure/cut my own dogbones). I wanted it to fit under the stock ITR USDM wheels and keep the proportioning(sp?), and pedal feel, via same piston fluid displacement... Would the larger rear rotors help to keep the f/r ratio under any other condition other than fade resistance?
