Default Inspection ?

Hey guys...just got back from trying to get my car inspected. The guy told me that because of me disconnecting the battery his tools wouldnt recognize the OBDII stuff....then he told me to go talk to honda about it. Im not trying to pay honda to do something that I very easily could do. I checked my helms manual, and it said to pull the 7.5 amp backup fuse for 10 seconds, but I think that sounds like resetting the ECU agian...anyone have any experience with this or any insight??? He plugged in right by the under dash fuse box where they would plug in the Honda Diagnostic Tool thing....anybody know how to make that work agian after the battery has been disconnected???

In Texas they do the obd2 scan for the emmissions test. I pulled the negative of the battery right in front of the tech and they didn't say anything. Hooked my car up and it passed with flying colors. I have an emissions code as well that got erased when I reset my computer.

It just said on my inspection papers that they printed out for me that my OBDII stuff wasnt working. They said it was common in cars that the battery terminals had been disconnected and to just go talk to Honda about it. Im talking about the same thing that you are 97hb..My car wont talk to the OBDII stuff...so the guy connected a make shift tach to the OBD slot thingy, and it wasnt reading anything....he said that this was common, and Honda could reset it, but Im sure that I could do it myself if I knew what I was trying to do even....thanks guys!

did you try a another place to see if it's their own tools that are having the problems. it's better to get a second opinion from a different shop just to be sure.

Well this was at a Jiffy Lube that had just inspected 3 or 4 cars before he tried to do mine. Moneys pretty tight right now (as Im a high school student about to be paying for my own college), but does anybody on here work as an inspector for the state of NC and at least know what Im talking about???
