Which adjustable cam gear is the best for the money??
AEM - only three bolts which may lead to slippage
Skunk2 - some experience timing marks off and not that accurate
I don't want to spend too much on the cam gears b/c all I need them for is adjustability over stock. So what do you guys recommend?? TIA for the info.

I vote Toda gen 2. After using them last week I was impressed with their new setting marks. Much more accurate than trying to find half a mark on those others. No matter which setting you want, there is a mark you line up so that you are dead on every time. I even write some crude directions on how to use them for folks which it confused under my Toda FAQ.
other then this?

No. i haven't been able to get to the dyno to do all the other stuff yet. in time when i have it

I had aem's first. They slip.
Unorthadox second, loved them but a little hard to read.
Toda gen2's current. Super easy to read and adjust.(once I figured how

Hey fellas,
I have some first hand experience that AEMs can slip
I know a lot of people use them with no problems, but there have been others reporting problems, so I would not go that route.
As for the Skunks, has anyone heard of them slipping??? I absolutely cannot have them slip again
It may be easier for me to get the Skunks in time (rather than Todas) which is why I may go that route, but I would feel a lot better if people could substantiate that they will not slip.
Thanks,
FB

To the best of my knowledge there has been never any reports of slippage on the skunk/skunk2 gears. The very old Z.Speed gears they evolved from which had steel center gears, way back in the day they included weak bolts that were easily overtorqued and broken. But that has been long take care of with high grade stainless bolts.
the skunk2 gear is marked off slightly, the true zero position is about half a mark advanced. But that does not really matter because it is only used for reference anyway when you tune the car on the dyno. Since the original poster asked what is the best for the money, I'd have to say the skunk2's
are.
Construction wise skunk2 are the very best. First cam gear out with hard anodized outter gear. Probably the most light weight gear still, and I've ran mine for some 30k miles and adjust them some 50 times...
Hey if you guys want a little rice combo I have them this way: blue for cold air, hot for exhaust... heheh.
I have them readily available if anyone is interested email me.
