Hi, I just installed a set of cams and i aligned the timing belt, timed everything properly, and have also turned the crank couple times by hand to make sure everything is lined up. After the job, i went out for a test drive and didn't notice anything unusual. I have taken it to 8000 rpm a couple of times and everything seemed fine. I guess up to now, my timing belt hasn't slipped yet but my question is, could there be a possibility that it can slip a teeth? I mean after i test dorve it?? Thanks
I can see why you might be nervous about this, having changed a belt myself recently. if you followed the proper tensioning procedure in the shop manual, then there should be no worries. I assume you measured the deflection after tightening down the tensioner? If you have done all of this, evreything should be ok.
