my cousins and i got bored and took the whole intake manifold off the head(d16y8 BTW)..and i took off the map sensor and separated the TB..i sprayed alot of TB cleaner in the manifold, and lots of mudlike gunk oozed out..vise versa with the TB...after all the hassle of cleaning and reassembly and disassembly of the manifold, IMO think it was worth it...i actually felt a difference in the throttle response, idle, and VTEC change over...pretty fun to do when you are bored have the whole day to kill...just wondering if anyone else has done this and noticed a cleaner feel of the throttle response

its only 5 bucks
unless you got a 00 y8, with the different gasket, then its 25

thats what i got
3 weeks ago i did this, and changed the TB gasket and IM gasket. yes, throttle response IS much better. keeping an engine clean is definitely a good thing.

Carbon build up causes turbulence and of course enough build up of layers decreases intake size (diameter), very small amount, but ever bit counts!
Much better idea to clean off of engine, rather than have the cylinders burn it off.

I would clean my throttle body but the damn thing holding the intake tubing is FREAKING STUCK like a...well it's really stuck. I will be going to Honda to pick a new tube-holder thingy so I can tear my old one off.
