Default Can you put in AC on non-AC car?

I got a 92 hatch DX and it doesn't have an AC and i was wondering if its possible to put in AC. How hard would it be and how much would it cost? Also can i do it by myself or do i ahve to take it to a shop? thanx

yeah you can, they're all set up for ac, just make sure you've got a diagram of everything and go at it.

The kits are not available anymore form Honda but you may find one still shelved if you call every dealer in America. Thats not a very realistic pursuit but there are a few aftermarket companies that sell complete kits and install them. Another option is to buy all the parts out of a wrecked car at a bone yard. I used to install 4 or 5 of those things a week back when those cars were new. I think my best time on an entire AC install was 45 minutes. Ahhh, back in the day.

Look on ebay (ugh no like ebay...but) and with some luck you may find a good seller with an a/c unit. I recently purchased the complete a/c system including the interior stuff for 100.00 on ebay.

Probably wouldn't have done it but the guys rating was a couple thousand positive responses.

any model? From 92-95 they were basically the same, except for the type of freon used. Try and get it from a 95 if you can.
