Default f22 vs d16

do you guys think that it is possible to make a 94-97 accord motor fast? i was always wondering that. because they have such a nice amount of torque yet still still seem to have some power on top. my beater accord still hauls *** and its an auto. could you make a hatch with an f22 move pretty decent?

and also i heard that a stock DSM turbo manifold bolts right up to the F22, is this true?

so where does the f22 vs d16 come in...there wasnt anything about that in your post....i was hoping for something that related to the topic of the thread!
.....about your engine, im sure you could make it fast, but it just depends on how much you want to put into it....from my experience, the car is too big....i have a 95 civic coupe, and i can smoke my friends 97 accord...we both have about the same additions....I/H/E....the basics...its up to you though.....

Bisi Ezerioah already put an F22A1 in his 89 CRX HF race car. its hit 11.5 with spinning all 5 gears. ran out of gears at the end of the track and still hit a mid 11. You can make the F22A faster, and if in an Accord body, I'd recommend doing a turbo setup.

The power/tq of an F22 or F23 would be great in a civic, but think about it... you will still need to buy the H22 swap mounts ($600) and still have the hassle of the accord/prelude wiring nightmare... not worth the trouble.

Although if i had the $$ I would swap the F22 into my hatch just to retain sohc bragging rights...

thanks guys for the info, i was just wondering, about an F22 in an EG, vs the stock sohc/vtec. not braggin on the accord but she does pretty well for a 9 year old automatic, she hangs with some of the guys cars on here with vx-sohc swaps, thats pretty sad. but i have just never seen anyone put one in a civic. just got tired of the same old swap question and wanted to see a different thread.

what is a vx-sohc swap? sohc vtec in a vx? vx engine in a hatch? how is this sad that they got beat by ur accord?
F22 in hatch could be done but just isnt worth it considering there are equal if not better swaps out there that can be done with less hassle that have been already done and documented.

yeah a vx hatch with a sohc/vtec swap. and getting beat by a full bodied accord auto with a filter is pretty bad bro. i just wanted some information thats all, not anyone to get angry. i know there are other swaps out there that are easier and more productive, i have a swap and just wanted to see a different side.

no im not angry at all. it just seemed like u were saying that a vx with a sohc vtec swap would be fast or something. compare it to an si hatch that comes with z6 and ur not talkin a huge difference.

Umm... my 1/4 mile times say different... I've dropped at least 0.4 from a comprable Si hatch. My car is about the weight of a VX right now and has a Z6 swap.

i was kinda wondering the same thing. i have a 96 accord ex swap lying around in my garage. its for sale, but there's no takers. i was thinking about getting another 96-00 hatch and dropping it in. would it be worth it? since you have to buy custom axles, mounts, etc. how fast would it be compared to a d16y8 ek hatch?
