Default HP limits of stock H22.

Yes I've searched, sorry for the post.

I can't get a good estimate of the limits of a stock JDM H22a.

People say boosting under 8psi is safe, but it's all relative.

Whereas one setup could yeild X amount of HP, another setup would yeild Y amount with the same boost levels, so that doesn't really tell me anything I want to know.

Does anybody know the safe HP limit of a completely stock H22?

I've heard 250 whp at/or 8psi. Does this seem right?

All I can conjure up is that the 'stock h22 piston ring lands are weak'....how exactly does this affect boost levels?

Is the effect restrictive on HP levels directly, or directly on boost levels themselves and in turn restrictive on HP levels?

Can I safely run 250 whp, at whatever boost level required, safely?

I've asked in the FI forum but haven't received much help.

Sorry for the dumb post.

it is suppose to be safe at 8psi, but still, some people do have problems. with tuning you could get 250 WHP at 8psi IMO. since the preludes ring lands are weak, it limits you to how much boost you are gonna run. ring lands being weak are directly restrictive on boost leves therfore on hp.

Alright, I understand now.

So which would be safest/most reliable....

A setup pushing 8psi that only makes 230 whp

Or a setup that pushes 6psi but can make 250 whp?

prolly the setup that pushes 250 at 6psi. just make sure you have fuel, FMI, and all the other things to make a turbo reliable (besides pistons, piston rings..ect.)

I want to know what I can do STOCK though.

Can I not safely boost any amount at all on a stock motor?

I don't know if you meant I should have pistons etc, or if you meant have all safety precautions besides them, and keep the boost low?
