What do you guys think about this Aquamist from ERL??
Hey fello H-T's, I was reading about this aquamist thing, where they inject a mist of water in the intake track and it cools the air going into the intake manifold. says you need less fuel to "cool" the engine for turbo set-ups... check out this link and tell me what you guys think.
TIA

it seams as though the main purpose is not to "steam clean" but to cool down the engine. because inn many turbo engines fuel is used to cool the combustion chamber but as a result it takes longer to burn the extra fuel.
Frank from SFP runs this on several cars including an rsx and miata I know of off hand. It reduces detonation w/o having to run c16 int he car which is more costly.usually its is run in the windshield wiper reservoir and has to be refilled when you fill up with gas. its dangerous too. One of sfp's customers had a stereo shop work on one of their cars with an aquamist. they broke one of lines and somehow burned the car to the ground in minutes.

what the hell were those boners at the stereo shop doing near the aquamist unit in the first place, burned to the ground?

well i guess they were wiring up a serious strereo system and pulled a cable that pulled off the line and it sparked and caught fire. I dont know all the details but i know it was an rsx they did with aquamist

water injection is as old as world. had it on my 83 ZXT. works really well.

you can diy for really cheap too. with nice components for around 100. you can do it alot cheaper than that too.

Water injection is nothing new and works quite well on high-HP motors. Don't know why it wouldn't work with a honda! Remember, this isn't to clean the motor although some people do use this method for it (don't know if it works). It will cool down the incoming air and that is where your HP increase will come from.
look at the steve chapula kit from SMC enterprises they have there controller and alky water injection kit which really work much better.
