What AutoX class would I be in?
All I have is a Comptech Icebox/Filter. on the website it said there were 9 classes of stock but it didn't explain what they were, which one would I be in? I'd like to leave the Shitbox in but I'd rather take it out and be in GS than have to pour tons of dough into the car in order to stay competitive in a higher class.
definately NOT stock, it would bump you to CSP, though you could choose to run SM if you wanted. If you want to be competative at the Divisional level or higher, go back to GS. My 0.02$
adios,
adios,
The "nine levels of stock" are actually for different cars. A certain car will only fall into one particular stock class - G Stock in the case of the ITR, where as a Honda S2000, for example, is in A Stock (a different level of stock, but one that the ITR can't compete in).
Modifications (just about any mod really) will bump you into the trailer queen/mega dollar area. You'll be much happier in GS. Lose the intake, at least for competitions.

STS.
or STR if you run R-Compound tires. My GS-R with intake, suspension and tires is very competitive in STR and DSP and you should be doing ok in STS as well. Well.. depending on your local competition.

ITR's are not eligible for STS or STR. The torsen LSD is strictly prohibited in those classes. Either remove the Icebox and go to GS (the best choice) or play with the big dogs in CSP or SM.

Typer: I thought Factory LSD's were allowed in STS? Both CFR and Jax region SCCA place ITR's in STS..... sigh.

Certain LSD's are permitted in STS (Sentra SE-R, etc) but not the torsen LSD in the R. I would love for that rule to change he he
but dont see it happening.
GS is the place to be wtih the ITR, and probably DS for next year. SM could be fun, but after running with Kent Rafferty this past weekend in his scary fast Supra Turbo, I think I'll stay stock. He was over 2 seconds faster than me!!! Damn!!! I did manage to finish just behind him in PAX though, and I'll take that, since he's the reigning SM national champ

Crap--if the ITRs were allowed in STS I'd make a full-on effort in that class. How sweet would an ITR be in STS? Wish I could find out!

Todd, I can tell that you'd like nothing better than to open up that can of whup ***!!! Maybe you should have kept the Civic stock w/kumhos so you could run in HS this Sunday! Maybe it would cure your aggravation.
Since the ITR can't be in STS, the Civic is going to make an STS fun run this sunday. All 106 raw horsepower churning at the pavement!
And regardless if an ITR was let in locally in STS, the ITR is illegal for the class, period.

Actually, helical AND clutch-type LSDs are banned in STS... It's only factory viscous limited slips are allowed. The only VLSDs I know of are in the SE-R crowd and the '00 Subaru 2.5 RS...

Now the real question comes when the new SE-R gets here with it's helical limited slip...
Will they change the rule for the exception that created it?

STS should be open to any FWD car, period. Why punish the R for things it can't help
But logicaly, I still can't understand the AWD Subaru in STS. Let's just give the Subaru 1-3 at nationals because Subaru is a good SCCA sponser
