help me chose pistons for my turbo setup
my projected setup:
JE 9.5
Eagle rods
hone
balance crank
new bearings
new waterpump, timing belt
arp head studs
new head gasket
Im planning to build my b18c to handle 15 pounds of boost with tunning(hondata)
what I have so far is a max rev kit with a T3 60-1 from doing a litle research I understand this turbo works best running 12psi + ?
would this setup allow me to "safely run 15 psi"??
TIA

So far your setup looks good but I would run some lower compresion pistons such as 8:5:1 or 9:1:1, JE's are good along with Arias. For 15psi I wouldnt trust Eagle rods, yes they are cheap but we all know you get what you pay for and who wants to rebuild a engine if they dont have to. If you wanna do it right I would say Crower. 15psi is alot so you will need to get it tuned ASAP. Also if you dont want to sleeve I say go with a blockguard. Some people will say you dont need one and you will overheat but I just picked up a GE blockguard and so far I love it and dont have any heating issues. Its nice knowing you have a little protection then no protection. Also pick up some 550+ injectors
I would dissagree when you say the eagle rods cant handle 15psi. There are tons of people on here running hundreds of horsepower through them daily. Also, i 9.5:1 is definaly not too high for 15psi. Cmon, hes getting a standalone.
I run and like Wiseco pistons. They are made in the good ole USA, and are usually cheaper to come by that other pistons sets. I got 84.5mm B20 pistons w/ rings for under $350.
9.5:1 isn't too high for boost, it'll make a good bit of power. However you're gonna have to watch your tuning very close. Also 550cc *might* not be big enough if you're looking to run 15+ psi on a 60-1

as long as you aren't taking your motor past 8k Eagles will be fine, they can handle ALOT of power, the bolts just aren't strong enough for high rpms. Weisco pistons=bang for buck, 9:1 comp is perfect IMO
