What would you hope to accomplish by putting the B20 head on the B18b block?? Serious question. Why not do a LS/VTEC?

 

Will bolt up. Intake cam on b18b and b20b head are different. b18b and b20z intake cam are the same.

the only way i would do a lsvtec is if i buy a ITR head or CTR head with complete valvetrain and ect, i bought a b20 head because of the simple fact i needed a newer head so i can build it while i have a stock one on. (ls turbo maybe in the future???)

 

It's not exactly the same. The bore on a B20 is bigger than a B18, 84mm vs. 81mm. So... the combustion chambers will be bored out slightly wider. Youc an put it on, though you'll get a hot-spot at the top of the cylinder where the combustion chamber doesn't match it right to the edge.

NO, the combustion chamber is not bigger, the two heads are the exact same casting, there is not one damn difference at all.

It will be exactly the same as an LS, the only variable is cams.
