I have my mom's stock ITR muffler and I wanna know what I have to do to make it fit? I tried to see if it would and it stuck out about 3or 4 inches. If I used the ITR b-pipe would it fit? Or do I have to get custom piping?

 

probably be cheaper and more reliable to have a muffler shop weld it on and hang it properly

 

We have used it on a few of our cars and we removed the tip because of it sticking out so far. It looks nice without the tip really undercover. If not you can always re do the piping and tuck it under more.

 

How much does it cost to re-do the piping so I can have the muffler tuck under. I would like it to look like this:

Maybe even a little more tucked in.

 

Oh, does anyone possibly have a picture of an ITR muffler on an EG?

 

you need 92-95 ex si piping or 96-00 ex piping..i got a 94 ls engine with 00 ex piping and 96 ek muffler =_) rattles but free

it'll work... i had it on my car for a while but got tired of the tip sticking out so i took it off....

if you get a whole new piping done at a muffler shop, just tell them to do some cutting to make it fit perfect..... the tip sticks out more cause the teg rear bumpers stick out further then the EG's...

BTW you got some ******* kool as parents ITR, WRX........(i meant to say that the first time i read your sig)

I'm about to do this aswell. I'm just gonna take it to an exhaust shop to mate it with my tanabe piping.

User egghead has it on his and this is what he did (*i think*)
I've seen it in person and it looks sweet.

He had an exhaust shop do the axle pack and connect to his tanabe piping.
I'm not sure if they re-did the hangers or not.

As you said the tip sticks out too far. He cut the tip and now it looks like a super
short version.

I should have mine on by the end of the week

 

I have an itr muffler on my eg, the muffler shop just cut the piping a little so it tucked, and i had them cut the tip off and cut it in half then weld it back on, looked good, just gotta get a shop that does good welding or else it'll look like bugers on there.

the reason is I just got me a GSR muffler for free and it should be enought to let the D16 breathe for now...

You guys mention cutting before the muffler? I know the tip will be too long but the part that goes over the LCA, it does not fit without modifications?

I have not yet actually tried this b-cuz I am lazy, so let me clarify what I have heard:

The ITR or GSR muffler will fit as is, but the tip will stick out.

So I assume all you need to do is cut the pipe that the tip bolts to so it will fit w/o sticking out ?

Will the rear section of the muffler bolt up fine w/o modification ?

Yea, I wanna clear things up as well(sorry I'm slow). Are the people that have it cutting the tip and then re-welding it on? Or are you cutting the axle-back part? Or are you just getting new piping and not cutting anything?

 

I tried putting integra exhaust on my hatch and the axel-back and tip where both to long.

 

We all know it won't fit just trying to put it on there. Thats why we are asking what has to be modified..
