Weighed my hatch. Light or not?
I was getting my car stripped out and cleaned for the track next week (kinda early
) and decided to weigh it and see what it weighs stripped, ready for the track. Last time I ran I just took out the back seat. This time everything is out except the drivers seat and passenger seat. To the local 24 hour truck stop and fine fried chicken...
With me in it and a 1/4 tank of gas it weighs 2160. Minus me it's 2005lbs.
Taken out..
Back seat
door and rear panels
cargo cover
rear seat belts
carpet
center console
rear bumper support
Good or bad or average weight?

why not just take out the body panals and ride your car with no doors
Yea, that'll work!
If it's really 2005 then that's light as ****!
I'm at 2040lbs. currently - I need a C/F hood and a non-Airbag steering wheel!
Ahhh...but do have GS-R front and rear brakes and a rear swaybar too...
Still 2005lbs...damn!

Yep 2160 is what it weighed with me in it. 1420 on the front and 740 on the rear. Came inside and stepped on the scale and i'm 155
The CF hodd does make a big difference over stock. Seeing as you have no radio but the added brakes and swaybar but no CF hood, our weights are about the same.
I Still have tar in the front floorboard and the black mat on the firewall on the inside. Haven't checked on what it's gonna take to get the mat out but the tar chipped about a 1/4 inch square and I decided that was gonna take awhile, so that is later

You have an anorexic hatch...
I just stripped mine last weekend, I like how it looks compared to stock ugly interior...
Do you have a bucket seat? You could lose some weight their.

Yes, the tar takes a while to remove...if you can find dry ice, get it!
It took me a few days to take it all out with a hammer and a chisel...haha. I removed 17 lbs from my '96 CX.
