strut squeaks maybe springs?
hey guys..i lowered my car on goldline springs. 1.50 in drop. well..my strut/shock squeaks when ever i go up into my drive way or something like that(as in a bump like like). do you guys think its my struts? just need new ones? think it could just be my springs? or dont worry about it?
bump, i need to know also. i have the same problem, except my squeaks constantly. i'm using gc sleeve and collar with skunk coil-over springs (i swapped with my buddy) and they are on itr struts. i have already checked the rubber "cups" and there seems to be nothing wrong. it is extremely annoying and i still can't figure out what is wrong with it... HELP!!!
BUMP BUMP

do yo uguys think that it could be because of the old bodies of the cars...mine is a 95 and it does it, how about you....?? my shocks are only 6 months old, so it cant be that...????

Check to make sure the rubber pieces in the top "cup" of your struts are in place, or else the shock will rub the metal and make it "squeak"

And the problems could be a few things. 1.)It definetely can be your struts are worn out if a.) they're stock and you've had them on for a while. b.) always check for oil leaking out of the actual shock housing when swapping suspension. Plus check rebound. compress the strut with your hands. then watch to see if it comes up nice and slow like it should.
2.) don't forget to trim bumpstop and dust-boot cover(the plastic piece which can squeek if not put on right due to the fact it actually has metal on the inside) check all these things and 9 times out of ten that will do it.

but which part I have to cut?
Another idea of squaking source - where the dustboot slides on the shaft, I had to make the hole bigger cauz konis have biggers shafts, but the hole is quite tight, so could this squeak?
and which part I should've cut? bottom rubber boot?

bottom? oh no no my friend. The top. This is what stops dirt and grime from getting into your actual strut housing when it goes down. If you use the bottom half that you cut it wouldn't do anything. You must cut it 1.5" down from the top and replace it exactly like you had it on in the first place. I would put some pics how to but i don't have them hosted yet. Sorry. 56k sucks.
Oh and if you cut the hole bigger to fit the shaft, that's probably your problem right there. The dustboot cover has a plastic outside but has metal on the inside so it won't get squished if/when the strut compresses on it. You took away the plastic leaving a metal to metal contact. If i was you to be on the safe side, I would check and see if the shaft isn't scratched up at all. This could cause some leaking of the shock after a while.
Mine squeeks when I turn the wheel, and when I go up and down driveways...But is worse in cold weather. I've always wanted to know exactly what it was. I think It's the 10 year old bushings.
