Ok, I am installing a JDM 4-1 header on my ITR. I have read like 4 different install pages, and none of them say anything about removing the radiator, but it seems to be getting in my way. I have tilted it on its side and either the A/C compressor is in the way, or it hits the bottom of the block on the other side. Any help is appreciated.

You're installing it from the bottom right?

 

Yeah just put it in from the bottom, hook up the lower mounts first then wrestle it onto the head studs. No reason to remove the radiator.

 

Yeah, I am definitely installing it from the bottom....I haven't even got it to the point where I can bolt up the bottom. The problem I am having is getting it up there in the first place.

I popped mine off for an easier install. you really don't have to but getting past the some of the junk in there is a bitch. work smarter not harder.

 

I wanted to ask so I wasnt forgetting anything obvious, that I may damage.

if you are laying underneath the car feet pointing toward the rear. u can tilt the top of the header towards the passenger side of the front end and have someone stand above and guide the header up as u fit it into place. easy install once u tilt it a little and get it up to place. no need to remove the radiator. me and my dad did the whole exhaust with in 2 hours maybe....
