How to keep A/C in 91 hatch with B16A?
What a/c bracket do I need to keep a/c functional in a 91 DX hatch with a B16A swap? Summer is coming soon, and I don't want to be sweating at traffic lights. List anything I need to have functional a/c with this swap.
I'm almost sure it's the Del Sol VTEC bracket, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm about 99% positive thats right.
I've got a compressor and a bracket that bolted to my B16a... It just needs custom line ends made for it which should cost less than $100 + recharging the system.
Let me know if your interested in these two parts, I have NO idea what they came off of, possibly a 90-91 b18a.

I used the a/c bracket that came with the b-16..after a slight modification
I had an extra "Sanden" brand compressor laying around so I could "mock it up"
{* I am not sure if this would work with the "Matsushita"}
The front bolts, top and bottom will line up,but the back ones did not,So a ran a bolt through the top, back hole and noted where it made contact with the bracket.
The area where the bolt contacted had an angle which I had to grind flat,
I then drilled and tapped it and added a third bolt.
A fourth bolt hole could probably be fabricated, but I did not bother
figuring three bolts would be plenty to hold it.
I also had to dent the crossmember slighty as well as the structure in front of the a/c compressor clutch.I used the b-16 exhaust manifold and both stock fans after removing part of the drivers side shroud extension..
I'm not sure if this info will help you but I hope someone can benefit from it.

Well, the car is equipped with a/c right now.. it just needs recharging. I'm gonna wait til the swap is in before recharging it. So I already have a complete a/c system, I just want to know what bracket I can use to make my a/c work with the B16A in there.
I think HASport makes a bracket for this application. Does anyone else? Or is there a stock a/c bracket from another car that will work for me? I don't think the del Sol bracket will work.
The only braket that will work is the HASport one, with USDM A/C. You can modify others to work. Nevermind look below for the real answer

I used the HASport a/c bracket, it didnt leave me enough room to use both fans, I just kept the 1 fan. A/C works great, I actually did my entire CRVTEC swap into my crx without discharging my a/c system.
Hahaha. Feels like summer's here too. These companies make brackets that bolt to any B-series block and uses the factory ED/D-series A/C parts.
- HASport (fits both Sanden and Matsushita)
- Place Racing (one model for the Sanden and one for the Matsushita)
- HCP (fits both Sanden and Matsushita)

Just call around to your local shops and get quotes on ordering it. Anyone that carries these brands can order your part. You can call up the manufactuers for qoutes, but MSRP can be a load of crap.

Only sites that I know of, that have it listed are...
JHP (HASport)
Inline4 (HCP)
