Default JDM d15b Vtec?

30014 - D15b SOHC VTEC Longblock
130Hp 92-95 Civic VTi (JDM)
$ 500.00 Plus shipping and handling.

I was looking on HMO, and saw that they had this ... perfectly in my budget, but how is part availabilty? can any of this stuff be purchases in the USA or does it have to come from japan? would the wiring and stuff be the same as a z6?

I heard that you can use a d16z6 cam but it will be -3 degrees retarded,You can use the same pstons, but i dont know if them make aftermarket rods or not,But everything other that will bolt right up.

im not really gonna be doing any internal work, I was talking things like dizzy, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs / wires

and would the y8 intake manifold bolt right on? I figured it would since they are both d series

you need to get a timing belt from a 94 civic vx that the only one that will work, you have to cut the holes where the bolts go on the si dizzy so it will line up to the holes you will only get 2 to line up you need wires for a 95 civic ex and i thing the water pump is 95 ex also.I already did this swap in my rex if you want pics of what the dizzy should look like give me your email address and ill send you pics.

no one knows any of this stuff? I can't go by what you think... I just want the tbelt and waterpump replaced while the motor is out... I plan on using my Dx tranny, but the car has to be converted to obd1 and mpfi. I can use the dizzy that comes with the motor right? (it just has to be repinned)

other than that, what else has to be done for the MPFI swap, cuz I get the intake mani, injectors, and if the car is being converted to obd1 there is no use for the injector resistor box

only thing that I am 100% sure of is the 94 VX Tbelt, someone else also told me this

I'am quite surprised that only the 94 Vx Timing Belt fit.
there might be another one for shure, Honda shurely hasn't make the Tbelt different for the 94 vx civic damn.
I am really surprised cause here, in canada, the VX dosn't exist, so I wont be able to get any Timingbelt when I will need one!!

almost everybody told me that the any z6 from 1992 to 1994 will fit in.

Kranked.

i did talk to him over AIM, but he didn't really know much about it... seemed like he was kinda unsure about his answers - that's why im still looking

but I might just go the ZC route, it's easier and a little cheaper

where in florida are you located,I just got my d15b for 350 plus tax from miami.
z6 timing belt works fine ,if you convert your car to obd1 then all the parts off the 92-95 motor will work, their is a guy thats sells the obd0-obd1 harness for the dizzy,so its just plug and play.I can give you the # to the place where I got the motor from if you want to call them and get 1

Ok I too have the JDM D15b (no #s behind it) swap on a '97 civic ex. I'm pretty sure that is the D16Y8 engine. So my question is... will the D16Y8 parts like timing belt, ECU (manual), and distributor work. I'm going from OBD2 to OBD1 engine with OBD2 ecu, assuming its pre 1996 because it is a 1.5 liter engine. Or is the OBD stuff irrelevant when talking about JDM engines.
