I have a Tial WG with the dumptube routed to the bottom of the car. When I blip the throttle, it makes a quick "BRAP BRAP BRAP" sound. I was told that it is simply dumping the excess. WHen I hit vtec though the BRAP becomes constant, and sooooo freakin loud it's crazy.
I was also told that it is becuase my WG spring is only .3 bar. So .. if I got a stiffer spring, would it go away? I also hear that routing the Dumptube back INTO the downpipe would get rid of the noise.
ARe these assumptions true?

hmmm......it shouldnt do that when you just blip the throttle. Are you talking about in neutral? I dont think you can build enough boost to open the WG by blipping it.
I am sure many people have suggested it, but make sure the metal ring is in.
Yes routing the dump to the DP will make it a lot quieter, but you will lose some power.

um don't replace the spring.......you'll go boom. That controls how much boost you run. if you get to big of a spring you will be running more boost and depending on your setup that might not be good.
check my thread about adding an MBC to help keep it shut more , i think we have the same problem, its too loud under vacuum, nevermind boost, dont mind it loud under boost but wish it would stay shut under vacuum, peep that thread
ahhh..... tial wastegate open loop dumping. It's a beautiful thing isen't it? I love mine and wouldn't closed-loop it ever hehe :D

I guess it's okay since poeple are saying that I should expect it.
