Need Help, rear brakes are seized
Hi guys, I'm new to this section, I'm usually in the lude forum. but anyways, here's my problem. I have an 89' SI HB and whenever I have my parking brake on and it's very humid or it rains, my rear wheels lock up. Ever since this has happened I never use my parking brake. However, I haven't driven my civic for a week and a half now, and left the parking brake on by accident. Now the wheels are locked, tried moving the car, but ended up laying down some rubber on my parking lot. Any suggestions? I don't wanna have to pay for a tow truck if I can unlock them myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
did someone try to adjust the e-brake at the handle instead of at each rear wheel? if the cable adjustment is over tight, it could cause this. I have also had to replace bad cables on occasion. the will rust up on the inside of the sheath, and the buildup will make them bindup. good luck.
obd1(want come by the shop, want return my calls, deserted his friend)canobie is probably right-on with the cables being bad.

Angelo, I've been busy dude. Three motor swaps, a couple of clutches. I even cleaned the heck out of the shop. J G's car is on the short list. It should be up again by the weekend.
The rumor mill is at it again. Got asked today if a.) was Matt really going to work for Angelo? b.) what happened to the girl w/the red delsol?
I could not answer either question, so I told them to call you.
Kiss the kids and pat the guard dog on the head for me.

Thanks for the help, I can't remember when my parking brake was last adjusted, but it seems that a little rain/humidity is all it takes to seize up my brakes. My mechanic told me to raise the car, remove the wheels and put a hammer to the rear brakes slightly to unjam them, that's how he did it the first time.
