I tried doing a search, didnt come up with anything.
I found a 95 Jdm B16a longblock for sale locally and was wondering
how I could identify it being a Sir or not? It has 'gray' plugs on the distributor and was attached to a hydro trans once before. Any links, also how much is a legitimate price for this piece? Thanks.

first look for a stamp on block that should be just a B16A then serial number
electronics should be OBDI type this includes (smaller vtec solenoid), grey plug distirbutor, thermostat housing with temp sensor.
look at the intake = if it has three ridges insted of PGMFI plate then its usually OBDI type.
check the year of the head as well. look around above the exhaust ports.
price for just a long block should be in the $500-1000 range

Thanks for the reply.
The head is stamped as a 95.
The vtec solenoid does not have the oil pressure switch, which I believe 95 and up dont have. It also doesnt have the Pgmfi on the manifold.
Would this be an Sir motor?

look under the engine code, which should say b16a, underneath that, there is a long number...if that number is a 5-million series number then the motor is from an SIR. if it's a 1-million series number, then the motor was from an earlier integra. since the block was stamped 9/5, you should be in the 5-million series.

true, anything is possible, but assuming the head and block are in their original configuration, he may like to look at the number.
you may or may not be able to tell if the head and block have been separated...i guess that's a gamble everyone has to make, since we're playing the devil's advocate here.

Or it could be an older block with a newer head...
