Just undo the screws with pliers, and then cut the shield with snips to remove it. Takes like 1 minute.

Vice grips, Tin Snips and a lot of yanking.

I didn't plan to put mine back on.

I just a large pair of slip joint pliers... grab tightly and then tap with a hammer... alti-sieze before putting them back on.

Cut them like this and you can install them once the track event is done.

What would be the problem with leaving them off?

Only bad thing about leaving them off is dirt and other debris get on your brakes more.

$17.95 = bling.

Melted rubber = bad.

I removed mine last weekend. Use MulGrips instead of pliers on the screws, you can be sure they will come off then.

Cant say I have protected the rubber on the ball joints should I?

I've always wonder if the CV booth and/or ABS sensor won't get overheated at the track due to the hot rotor....

The CV shaft should have enough air going to it to keep it safe.... but the heat will still be transmitted from the hub.

abs sensor = who knows.
