Supercharger - Installed AND COVERED BY ACURA???
I recently heard that Acura is installing jackson superchargers into ITRs and keeping the warranty valid since they did the job...how cool is that? anyone else know more about this?

i dont know about it for the type Rs, but my friend got his comptech supercharger installed on his s2000 at honda and it has the same 36k mile warranty as everything else.. pretty crazy so it might be the same for the integra
Aside from the warranty, only Comptech is allowed for installation and I guess strictly enforced by Acura. Hell, they charge 75 bucks an hour for 9 hours of dopey work done by 9 different "mechanics".
Well, far fetched numbers for installation fee, but I wouldn't want them installing ****. It's just not very Honda of them. Probably Comptech parts are just installed. I would order Comptech direct if Comptech anything from any import store.
There is no difference in warranty coverage between a Comptech supercharger, a Jackson supercharger, or any other aftermarket modification. Your Acura warranty continues to cover your car, but excludes any problems CAUSED BY the aftermarket modification. So you COULD have a problem if you encounter any problems in the drivetrain and they are attributed to the supercharger.
The supercharger itself is covered by whatever warranty its manufacturer provides.

NBP ITR 01-622,
You didn't happen top buy your ITR in PA did you? There is a dealership around here who says they will cover the supercharger under the new car warranty if you had it installed at the dealership....But the truth is, they don't cover the SC under the warranty. Jackson is still actually responsible for it.
And the dealership wanted over $6000 for the Supercharger and parts installed....expensive!

Just FYI - An individual dealer can give you warranty coverage on a supercharger they install - if they want to. That's up to them, operating as an independent business. My previous statement was only referring to coverage by Acura (where the repair wouldn't be paid for by Acura corporate, rather than the dealership).

When I went in for my first oil change at Crown Acura in Richmond, VA ("my dealer" now although I got the car in Atlanta) they offered to put in a Jackson Racing S/C ... they also said they'd put in any Comptech stuff I wanted and they'd still honor my factory warranty if they did the install and I took my warranty issues back to them.
