i just swaped a jdm b16a into a 90 crx dx i had the wiring done at a very respectable shop and i picked the car up yesterday or like 9 hours ago lol. anyways i noticed a check engine light a few hours after picking up the car so i calld them they said it was probably nothing but i should check it or have it checked. anyways i noticed that the rev limiter was at 7900 not 8200 so that was my first suspision that somthing was up. then it cut out at 7500 and then at 7000 does anybody know what this problem could be my friend sugested that it could be my throttle positioning sensor? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yup, your car will go into limp mode, which will lower the rev limiter. Find out what code it is... here: http://www.geocities.com/chipman_13/ecu.html (same as B16)

i know mine kicks in before 8200 but i dont know exactly when...i recently finished my swap too...im getting a code 6 and no check engine i dunno why its kicking in so early...the limiter goes at like 7400 or somewhre in that area
When my car was running right, the B16a was being limited at 8000 RPM. As soon as it threw ANY code, except the code 20 my car's had lately, it would set the rev limiter to 7200 and it would NOT change over to VTEC. All the JDM ECU's are like this.

code 13 is the atmospheric pressure sensor and it can be damaged by flooding, my cars heater core went out and coolent drained into the floor boards so that sensor could be messed up and code 1 is an o2 sensor and that could just be messed, that is a somewhat usuall problem that ive seen. ill check with the guys who wired it thanks
