Default Steering squeels when I turn left!!!

Here's the deal...

Swapped a B16 into my 88 hatch, and replcaed the entire suspension, x member, and steering rack with one from a CRX Si, as well as the tilt steering column and wheel, etc etc.

When the car is moving slowly, and I turn the wheel left, it makes a squeeling noise that seems to be coming from the column, yet when I turn right.... no noises.
WTF is wrong?? It is getting to be really really annoying!

do you have power steering .my friend had power steering and every once in a while when he would turn this way or that he'd lose the assist [from the power steering]which would cause the wheels to be more difficult to turn, and the screeching would start.anyway when i checked under the hood when i tell him turn the wheel the belt would be moving but the pulley would stop thus the sqeeling. i changed the belt and tightened to proper tention no more sqeel.hope this helps

Nope, it's manual steering.
