Default Off the Wall Timing after dizzy fix

Car: B16A CRX

Recently I jsut got my dizzy replaced with one from a G1 Teg LS (sawed off one leg, etc); anyways, it runs

The only problem is that once I took it for the first drive it felt really slow and stilll does. My first guess was probably my timing was messed. I take a timing gun and check it out.

TDC mark was left of the block arrow and my 3 pts of (14,16,18) are waaaay down on the left side. So WTF happen here??? My dizzy has been advanced all the way and now I just slapped on an ignition timin controller and cranked it up another 15*. The pulley marks got a bit better but the engine block arrow ain't anywhere close to where i want it to be.

I was reading up on the timing resetting mechanism (jump the wht/grn and bwn wire), and am considering to try it but dunno if there's anything I should do b4 i do jump it.

1) Does anyone know why my timing marks are so F*cked up?
2) Can anyone explain to me the operations behind the timing reset thing?

Thx

Did you check both dizzys with the caps off to make sure that the rotor is lined up with plug 1 on both at the same spot. Your timing belt could be off a tooth too, I believe that would cause that.

Yep, it was the timing belt. My intake cam was off by 2 teeths. After getting everything realigned my car flies again.

Thx man. For some stupid reason it never occured to me that it could've been the cams - I was pinpointing it to the ignition timing the whole time.
