Default Project U brakes?

I am reading the May '01 motor trend with the brakes special they did in "performance trends." There are a couple brands I've never heard of but seem to be good. It says Mackin Industries imports the Project U brakes, and I know they also import Volk wheels and Tanabe stuff, so I imagine these brakes must be pretty good! Also, that strange little symbol after Project, Is it a "U," is it on the keyboard? What does it stand for?

We just picked up the Mu line and are looking for some eager individuals to try out some of the various offerings. Probably brake pads to start off. If interested, contact me. Thanks.

I probably don't have enough money! But I read that they are ultra-light weight, so unsprung weight performance increases would be pretty noticable, I imagine.
