Default Is this a good price for LS/VTEC buildup.

BLOCK:

$1,742.23
1.rebuild block with new SIR pistons with rings/pins
-rebore/hone block
-wash oil/water passages
2.polish crankshaft
3.press out/in rods
4. re-size rods
5. new oil pump
6. new gaskets and seals
7. new bearings
8. new water pump OE
9. new timing belt OE
10. Disassemble/Assemble Engine

Cylinder Head:

$377.00
1.Machine Cylinder head for LS-VTEC conversion
-parts, labor included
2. New Head Gasket OE

This setup would allow me to run 91 octane and not ping. I currently have a b18b and was planning on doing this setup. Do you guys think it's a good price?

well from a view point of another Engine builder... I think its a little too much, but for comparison, our high compression LS-CTR/ITR piston blocks are about $1300. only thing diff that I see is that they have added the water pump and timing belt. other than that, its pretty much the same parts on the block that we do. on the head, we only charge about $235 or so for the LS/VTEC conversion on the head with oil lines /fitttings, resurface head, and new head gasket.

If the price includes labor in putting it all back into the car and installing the head to the block, etc. then thats a pretty good price.

A shop called LDL is doing in it. The price only includes assembly. It would be more if they put the engine in the car.

Take the LS non-VTEC bottom and put a VTEC head on it b16 or b18c. And presto all your problems are gone
