How many years do we smog?
I can't remember, isn't it after a car turns 20 years old we don't
have to smog it anymore? If this is right then wouldn't I be able
to drop a JDM CTR motor legally in my 88' CRX Si? It's an 88'
So in 2008 right?
Thanks in advance guys

Vehicles with a year model 30 years old or older are exempt from the smog certification requirements.
Example: The calendar year is 2003- 29 = 1974 exempt year model
The current calendar year minus 29 equals the year model exempt from smog certification.
so... 2017 for your 1988 car. btw, Damn I'll be 40.

if you want to do that....just move to state that has not smog laws...there are not that many left.....what are they if anyone knows? Then will not have to wait...just my 2 cents...
for example..
here in ohio it goes by counties
my county needs smog
theres a shitload counties around that dont need smog...
all u can do its register ur car on a county that dont needs it ..... tell BMV u moved to ur friendds house lol

I have thought of smogging my car in Las Vegas. I have a brother who lives there
and smog laws are very easy to pass. As long as it's clean out the tailpipe they don't care if it's a JDM or not. So I can probably get away with registering the car under both of our names and keeping it here in Cali.
