Default Re: I need help with OBD2/OBD1 (PYTypeR408)

OBD is an acronym for On Board Diagnostics.

OBD1 is the first version of OBD and OBD2 is obviously the second version.

OBD2 has more sensors/controls than OBD1. These sensors/controls help to make the car more environmentally friendly and easier to diagnose/solve problems. It also makes the car be less friendly to performance modifications.

OBD2 Hondas have a service link connector that outputs the values of all the sensors related to the PGM-FI. It can monitor throttle position, RPM, IAT, etc.

There is a lot more to this subject than what I mentioned. This is just a basic description.
