need to hit 8k
I know i don't have a prelude but I have your motor. I was hoping you guys could help
I have 95 Accord with a H22a dropped in .. Got that done. But according to a site I just read on, that does nothing but dyno's to prove whats actually better for you. They did a test with ECU and they found out that the GSR ecu will help you more then the H22a's Lil lag on the gsr around vtec kick in then all of a sudden BOOM POWER like CRAZY! so thats what im planing to do. But here is the thing i want to use all of the power. i want my redline to hit 8k. What did I need to get my motor to hit there and not mess up anything. Like valves, springs.. etc.. what else do i need?? thanks guys. need to know soon so i can get this done. i want to see the diffrence between the ecu...
If you guys want site let me know..

the h22a isnt a high reving motor. you arent going to produce a lot more power on a stock motor by going to 8k rpms, i would like to go into detail about this but i have class in 2 minutes. hopefully another member can extrapolate on the matter.
Yeah im sure its not a high reving motor but since Im using the 8k redline of the GSR ecu I would like to hit it when im on it. Not like Im really revin hard the JDM H22a redline is 7400 , 600 couldn't do much damamge but in the same thing why do something half *** I just want to get the parts so i can do it saftly.
you can run the h22 to 8k all day..and it doesnt make power that high huh...maybe on a p13 ecu the power drops off..but on a gsr ecu it does still make power...i shift at 7900-8k and im using a chipped p28 with a Mugen GSR program..btw...the ecu switch netted me 3 tenths in the 1/4...you dont need valve springs or anything to rev that high..peace
if you run a gs-r ecu you will get that redline.
a GS-R is stock form is not good for an H22a engine, whoever told you that is an idiot. It produces more power cause it runs super LEAN.

That doesn't say much because if you look at it both ECU's are losing power after 7k so there is no reason to hev any higher.

I must have a freek JDM H22 or something, cuz mine without any internal mods whatsoever on the p13 ecu goes to 8500 with ease. All I have is a AEM cold air and a test pipe with a Apexi N1. None of those things would allow me to do that. Preluderacer023 do ou still have your JDM p13?? cuz Im pretty sure I fried mine in a bad wiring accident this past week.
NO i dont have my P13...but i can tell u this, my car pulls past 7k....when i had it dynoed last year...it made power all the way to 7500, then started to drop off. but it only dops like 5 to 6 hp from 7500 to 8...so by revving it up, im not losing that much, and falling into a more powerful spot in the rev range on each shift...im sure this isnt the rule but maybe more of an exception, but its how mine wrks, seems to be netting me very good 1/4 mile times, so im happy...when im at the track shifting at 7900 to 8 k works perfect, right in the sweet spot...peace

Do you not get it? that ecu runs LEAN don't mistake a lean A/F ratio with the ECU being better. ANd look at how bad it tanks down low, not to mention the secondary IABs open at the wrong time
Wanna rev your car to 8000 safely? Ok, spend 1000+ on an upgraded valve train, then feel that extra 1000rpms that you can enjoy that mad crazy vtec power that you think is so great when in reality you'll be losing power. Enjoy.

Thats not entirely the case, you can use a GSR ecu..but your better off using a chipped one...mine doesnt run lean at any point in the Rev range, in fact it runs rich as hell, secondly who cares about the secondary intake runners??..mine are open all the time, and my car pulls from 2k and up, i didnt feel any major loss having them open all the time....people can do what they want with thier ecu..however this i do know..I dropped 3 tenths on my 1/4 ET by switching to the ecu im running now...therefore i like it...and would see no reason to switch back...peace

hey Gudeh23...how can you say your losing power...you telling me the dyno lied? mine dynoed...and was still making power at 7500?..you guys are quick to say something is so...not everything is a set rule, yes most h22s wont make power past 7, but set up right, even with stock internals they are capable of making the power...and Satan Srv..im trying to show the guy asking that he needs to use a Chipped ecu if he does..damn calm down...i only made reference to the 1/4 times because ALOT of people want that...i still believe that the p13s are garbage either way...so to each thier own...oh and on a side note, i used a 95 Stock GSR ecu for 4 months, didnt run lean at all...and this was also checked on a widenand...it dropeed to 13,6 at the lowest point, which is hardly lean...just more info...u guys are harsh sometimes
no...my Vafc has never been tuned, i only got to dyno it cuz the place was testing some diff ecus for a swap they were doing, so i let them use my car..dynoed it with the p13, a spoon p13, a stock sgr, and a few chipped ones...im going to have my car dyno tuned next month hopefully, but ive never really been in a hurry to...it runs fine to me, na d i dont feel like im losing HP anywhere...the best way to tell if your car pulls above 7 is to go in 4th gear, at those speeds you can hear when your engine doesnt wanna pull mcuh anymore..also BTW anyone who uses a chipped or modified ECU your taking a risk...some people i know have fried thier cars cuz they got a bad ecu, or imprperly set up one, thats why im glad my freind made mine

Listen to Joel.
8000rpm on a stock H22A = valve float. not a good idea. No power up there anyway with stock cams and head
Stock P72 maps on an H22A = VERY lean and not optimal.
Here is the dyno of a stock P72 on an H22A with a:f readings:
http://www.h22a.org/gsrecu.htm
Air:fuel is well over 14:1 at 5000rpm+. BOOM!

8000 rpm on an h22a doesnt equal valve float....my stock limiter on my jdm cut it at 7850...now i shift at 7900 to 8k...been doing it for over a year and a half...and i also do all my own valve adjustments....8 k is perfectly fine with the h22a
