Weird thing from insurance company...
I got this thing in the mail saying that my insurance company as of March 28 will no longer cover any damage on my car cause of the type of car it is. They also said that they will find me a new company that will cover my car. has anyone else ever had this happen to them? My insurance company is Leader
its on my ITR, I dont think they want to drop me cause they said I can still insure my hatch with them and they will search for another company that will insure my R.
Ill see what happens im waiting for them to call me back

usually that it is an indicator that analysts/product managers have chosen a certain segment of a market that is no longer profitable to generate enough premium to offset potential loss. liability is easy for a company to carry since that is the damage you do to someone if you are considered at fault in an accident.
comp/collision (your physical damage), carries one major portion that is probably of concern to your carrier.. theft and vandalism. Let's face it, R's are a hot commodity, and your carrier probably decided it's better to drop the risk rather than try to accurately assess loss-ratio.
check online at some comparison sites. you can probably find another company that will carry your risk. good luck..but don't drive that R with just liability.

I don't know if you have nationwide in OH, but try them. They seem to be very reasonable from what I've heard. Allstate is quite expensive.

I have Allstate coverage on my 2 cars, and they offered me, by far, the lowest rates for the coverage levels I wanted. For me, Allstate was several hundred dollars cheaper than even the "discount" insurers like Geico, Progressive, etc for identical coverage.

Take your entire policy and pull it out. Don't put up with that BS. If you have a house insured with them, that's even more leverage.
I have never heard of Leader. Allstate is a rip and so is State Farm (as of late). Nationwide seems to be a little better, but they don't have the under 5000mile option like State Farm has. That's what I have and it saves me a huge chunk of change every month. A beater pays for itself in this regards.

It's impossible to make generalizations about auto insurance like that. It all depends on where you live, your vehicle, local insurance laws, your driving record, your credit history, etc...

The weird thing is that I pay the same for 2 cars as i did for just the ITR

state farm/nationwide/allstate...
they can give you really good rates IF you package other insurance like life, home, etc... i believe companies like geico/progressive are strictly vehicles, so they can be higher when you comparing package rates vs strictly vehicle.
check comparison sites...i think it's called insweb or something. they give rates of various companies.
Big 3 (State Farm, Allstate, Progressive) is a good place to check, but do some research and maybe talk to agents... I've heard that they can set you up for some good rates. Good luck

Try Progressive. I live in SW ohio and have had them for going on 4 years now. Rates were/are untouchable by any other insurer due to my less than stellar driving record.
Negotiate through an independent insurance angency to get the lowest rates. Going to progessive direct will not yield the best rate. I use the William Uhl agency in Centerville, you might try giving them a call.
