Motor trouble!!!
Last night after driving for a while, I notice white smoke comming from the engine bay. I stopped to check it out and my #1 spark plug wire is not in all the way, but was still making a connection because the motor was running just fine. There was a bit of oil that had splashed out around the hole and even ran down the front side of the motor. I could not get the plug to go down all the way. Desided to go home to investigate the problem. Once on the street I made it about 5 blocks and was sitting at a light when the motor started to smoke really bad. I knew it was just more oil. As I started to go there was a loud bang and suddenly I was only on 3 cyl and as I move the motor sounded like a lawnmower. I pull over and see a 1 foot spider like crack on the top of my CF hood. I lift the hood and something had fired out of the #1. I look inside and see the plug is slightly sideways. Obtained my tools then pulled out all 4 spark plugs and each one has carbon deposits and #1 was loose and #4 was flooded with oil. I checked the oil and there is practically none. Anyone know what could have happened. I just had the oil changed about 3 months ago but haven't driven it all that often. Have Nology hotwires and Denso iridium plugs AEM CAI and cams set to 0.0 and 0.0. Anyone have any idea what the hell happend?
Thanks

explain "slightly sideways". Was the plug out of the head? Did the threading in the head appear to be stripped?
There is a seal on the valve cover that keeps oil out of getting into the plug area. If it rips, or falls off during routine work, it will splash oil up and foul the plug. I had it happen once in my prelude, thought I lost a cylinder.
Confirm that the plugs' electrodes were not smashed in any way. It sounds like you could have more than a simple rubber gasket problem, though.

It was hard to tell if it was stripped, it didn't really look like it, except for maybe the very top. The spark plug it self was just laying in there. Imagine putting the plug in and not screwing int down. It was just sitting there. I think it poped out. I am not sure how, but I think it backed itself out then when it was almost all the way out, it blew out. Ater this thing blew I did notice a piece of rubber, and saw that it was the tip of the plug wire itself. You know the large part when it creates the seal once it is in. That came off. But #4 wire looked good, but was still flooded with oil.
take out the plug, what does the tip look like? If it is mushed and speckled, time to take off the head and check the piston
If it did anything than just back out (unlikely), your gonna have to take the head off and have the threads retapped. Make sure you have a professional do this. Sounds weird, did you recently put new plugs in?

I replaced them in late Dec. I don't know what could cause this. I haven't done anything to the motor. If the cam gears slipped or something, could it cause this kind of thing?
