7 psi will be fine on stock internals with good tuning. Going above 10 psi is when I would recommend a rebuild with forged internals.

I can tell you exactly everything that your going to need, however if you dont already know then i would say you really are not ready to piece a turbo kit together from scratch. I would recommend buying a kit with absolutely everything included. Piecing a turbo kit together from scratch can come out waaaaay cheaper and if done with junkyard parts you could literally come away with a kit for under a grand, but ive known soooo many ppl who have been lured by the cheap price tag but dont know what the hell their doing and end up selling everything or quitting the install. If forced induction is your goal, then buy a kit.

If you are a beginner go with the Greddy turbo for the 92-95 Civic. It will mount up with minor mods. Stock setting is 5.5 pounds and you will need a FPR "Vortec 12:" and colder spark plugs.

I started with this setup for a year with no tuning and it runs good.

I am now in the process of upping the boost to about 8 pounds, and upgraded the fuel setup with a Zdyne Gold ECU and DSM 450 injectors and a IC.

The greddy kit is a really good beginers kit and is pretty safe. Cost about 1,600
