Mouting Scanner under Radio, Help
First question is on wiring. How can i wire in the scanner to the fuse box on the inside drivers side of the car so that when I turn the car off the power for the scanner goes off? Can i just wire it in to an open fuse location and put a fuse in? Will it turn off when the car is off?
Second question is on mounting it under the radio where that plastic box thing is. I would have to take that box out though and fund some type of front panel to mount on the front with a hole for the scanner. Any ideas n how hard this would be? Where could i get parts for doing this?

You can wire to an existing circuit. The scanner wont be drawing much power. so you can do this. If you find the circuit which feeds the radio for istance, you could wire it there. Really tho, any circuit which is activated by igniton will work. YOu can use a voltmeter to find out which circuits are constant power and ignition powered.
The proper way, I guess would be to go behind the fuse panel and connect it in there. Ihave seen people just stuff a wire in front of the fuse on the front too. This will work, just isnt quite as neat.
Find some plexi or some plastic sheet to cut your plate from.

tegtyper, I ended up doing just what you described. I found a wire harness in front of the box that was triggered on ignition and found a ground wired in to the frame right there also so I am almost done hooking it up there.
thanks for the help!
