ok, car idled perfectly before hand. modifications are 90 B18A TB, 98 Y8 manifold, 88 A6 ported head, and Delta 260 cam. *EDIT: the head is milled 0.010" and the Y8 head gasket is about 0.011" thinner for a total of 0.021". so the cam gear is advanced 2 degrees. dont know if that could have anything to do with it? *EDIT #2: not running any coolant to the TB or the eacv...does it matter?
idle fluctuates from about 1500 to maybe 700. not throwing any codes...until you unplug the eacv...then idle smooths out a little...but not right.
eacv wires have 12v with ignition on. with eacv taken off to test - it clicks when you put 12v to the blk/yel and (-) to the grn/yel. does this mean that the eacv works or can it still be bad? because i got the eacv out of the junkyard...its actually from an 88 accord but its the right bolt pattern/size (whole other story). there shouldnt be any vacuum leaks...everything is torqued with new gaskets. (except the eacv)
any suggestions???

I don't think that IACV is compatible with your motor. It's the IACV right? The one with the coolant lines running to it? If it is then you have to get the one for the A6. I tried replacing my IACV with one from another motor. It bolted right up and the gasket was the same but it didn't have a screen and one of the holes was a little different. Anyway... the car idled like *** until I got another valve from an A6.

i just tried an eacv from a 97 accord...f22b?(cant remember) but anyways the eacv bolts right on to the y8 manifold and im sure the damn thing works. but when it drops off high idle it starts to fluctuate still. wtf??? if you rev it up to about 2000rpm and leave it there it doesn't drop...just when at idle. the eacv works cause when you put your finger over the hole in the TB it sucks in. it would be nice if the damn search worked, id probably have this done by now! im freaking lost!!!
oh and when you plug the eacv hole in the TB the idle drops down good and doesn't fluctuate. what the hell does that mean?

ok..i finally got it. it wasn't the eacv...it was the dashpot on the B18A TB. i clipped the spring to the wrong spot so it wasnt wound tight enough....thus leaving the intake open too much. (i put the throttle 'disk' from an a6 TB since its smaller than the b18a 'disk' and works better at lineing up the throttle cable.) i also had to use the idle screw to lower it as far as it would go, it reads about 850rpm on the digital meter, but it seems about right. (right at first line under 1000rpm in the car) id assume it might idle abit higher with the 3mm bigger TB and the cam.
how does the power feel like??? cause i plan on putting a 98 Civic DX manifold (type R manifold for SOHC's) but i cant find any, i bought one off ebay, but they sent me the wrong one, i was mad!!! but if anyone has one or knows where i can find one, please tell me i really want that manifold, and a nice big throttlebody off a GSR or Type R!!!!

Mine did the exact same thing. I have a Z6 with Y8 intake and T/B and no coolant thru the IACV or T/B. I set the idle correctly with the IACV unpluged and set idle to 550 pluged IACV in and reset ECU and it idle like that. So I just set the idle with the IACV pluged in and no problems since
in your opinion..... do u think that going from Z6 to Y8 intake manifold was worthed??? i can trade a PS2 for a Y8 IM and some cash.... and wanna know if its going to worthed.....
