Default h23 or h22?

i plan on going with a strong all motor set up (head work, 11.0 cr, built bottom end), and prolly a 100-150 shot, direct port style. im not looking for huge hp numbers, maybe around 300-350 on the juice. my question is should i keep the h23 in (127k miles) and rebuild it, or swap in an jdm h22? my reasons for keeping the h23 would be that its already in the car, save the cost of a new engine, and i could start working right now. the reasons i would get an h22 are more initial power, more aftermarket availability, and fewer miles. the downside to the h22 is that i wont be able to get one for several months, due to lack of finances. if you think that i can reliably reach my hp goals on the h23, then i will prolly keep it in, and gradually build it over time. if not, i wont spend any money on it, and save up for the swap. thanks for any info anyone can offer.
