I just got the CF climate control assembly, ashtray assembly and cup holder. I am already upset that the climate control is all scratched up and now I went to install the ashtray assembly and it doesn't even go in. Don't tell me I need a JDM middle console as well just to put this thing in. I've seen so many pics of it installed that I thought it would just slip in. Can anyone please help me? TIA

I think most of the pictures you are thinking of are simply the stock 00/01 USDM parts, not necessarily JDM. The easiest thing to do would be to compare your stock parts with the JDM ones and look for differences.

Well, if you look at our usdm console see how it curves toward the passenger side a little to give the driver a little more room. That is the opposite on the jdm ITR so because of that curve it wil not fit correctly. At least this is how i understand why the jdm climate control and everything ashtray and stuff will not fit.

 

The JDM climate control will fit.

The JDM ashtray/coinholder will not.

 

That's what I was worried about, that it won't fit. Down in the US is the ashtray and other things in CF?
